The guide · Pattaya yacht party from Bangkok

What a yacht day actually costs, and how it runs.

The long version. If you just want the price, the three boats are here.

Why Pattaya, not Bangkok

Bangkok sits on a river. What runs on it is dinner cruises and sightseeing boats, and none of them are yours. The private party yachts — the catamarans with a slide off the top deck, a floating pool off the back and a crew that sets up lunch at anchor — run out of the marinas in Pattaya on the Gulf of Thailand, two hours south of the city. Every crew that searches for a Bangkok yacht party ends up on a Pattaya boat. We make it a Bangkok day by putting private vans in the price: at your hotel in the morning, waiting at the marina when you come off the water, back in the city for dinner and the night out.

What it costs, all in

Charter companies quote the boat by the hour. Then it's fuel, the crew tip, the buffet, the drinks, the ice, the marina fee, the van from Bangkok — each a separate line, each a separate conversation, and the number you saw first is never the number you pay. We did that math once so you don't do it on holiday. Three boats, three prices, six hours each, everything inside: the Grand Yacht for up to 12 at $4,499, the Ocean Legacy for up to 16 at $6,499, and The Lord for up to 24 at $8,999. Bottles from the boat's list, the beers, mixers, ice and cups, the seafood buffet for everyone, soft drinks and water all day, the vans both ways, captain, crew, marina fees and island parking. Nothing is added on the day, and nobody on your crew is chasing anyone for money at the marina.

Paid in full by card through Square when the boat is confirmed for your date — that's what locks it. If the boat can't do your date, you're refunded in full.

How the day runs

It fits inside a Bangkok weekend. Tables in the city on Friday night, the boat on Saturday, back in the city by evening for round two — or, if the crew would rather not get back in a van, a night on the coast and the ride back on Sunday. Tell us which and we book the vans around it.

Nine in the morning, the vans are at your hotel. Two hours to the marina — sleep, or don't. On the water by about midday. The first hour is the run out to the islands; the slide and the floating pool open when the anchor drops. The buffet comes out around two. The afternoon is the top deck, the music, the water, whatever your crew is. Six hours after you boarded you're back at the marina, the same vans are waiting, and you're in Bangkok by early evening with time to shower before the night out. Four hours is a taster and eight is for a crew that wants to watch the sun go down from the boat — both are possible, message us — but six is the day.

The three boats, compared

The Grand Yacht is a two-deck motor catamaran with a slide off the side, a floating pool, a jacuzzi on the bow and a barbecue deck on the stern. It has every toy the bigger boats have and it's the one that gets a crew on the water for the least money. Sized for 12. The Ocean Legacy is the sleek one: a double slide off the top deck, an air-conditioned salon for whoever's burning, a proper shower below, and a top-shelf bar list. Sized for 16, and the one most crews book. The Lord is the party boat — two decks, a real bar, a foam party, a big slide, a sound system, champagne on the bottle list. Sized for 24 and licensed for 40.

Bottles, beer and the buffet

Alcohol on the boat comes through us and it's in the price. After you book, you pick your bottles from the boat's list — six on the Grand, eight on the Legacy, twelve on The Lord — and tell us on WhatsApp. They're bought, iced and stocked on board before you step on, with the beers, the mixers, the limes, the ice and the cups. The seafood buffet is on every boat for everyone on board. Want more than the list, or a bottle that isn't on it? Message us before the day and we price it and add it. Nothing is bought on board, so there's no bar bill at the end.

Crews of 25 to 40

The Lord is licensed for 40. Past 24, the bar, the buffet and the vans scale with the headcount, so we price the day for your exact crew rather than print a number that's wrong for half of them. Send the headcount and the date and you'll have a total the same day.

Bachelor parties, bachelorette parties, birthdays

Most of the boats we book are stag trips. The same boats, the same prices, run for hen trips and birthdays. The yacht day books on its own — fly in, do the boat, fly out — or as the Sunday of a Bangkok weekend, after the tables on Friday and Saturday. For the full three nights, see the bachelor party guide or the bachelorette guide. Atmosphere models on board are $249 each with transport included, in sixes.

Season and weather

Season runs November to April. The Gulf is flat, the sky is clear and the marina almost never raises the red flag. Rain alone doesn't cancel a boat day — the marina does: if the red flag is up and the boat can't go out, you get the day back in full or we move it to a spare day. May to October is the rainy tail; boats still go out, but it's a coin flip we don't sell.

What to bring

Swimwear, sunscreen, sunglasses, a towel from the hotel, and a phone in a dry bag. Your passport stays in the hotel safe. We send a short list on WhatsApp the day before.

Questions

How much does a private yacht in Pattaya cost per day?

Charter companies price the boat by the hour and add fuel, crew tips, food, drinks and the transfer from Bangkok on top, so the number you see first is rarely the number you pay. Our three packages are the whole day in one price: $4,499 for up to 12 on the Grand Yacht, $6,499 for up to 16 on the Ocean Legacy and $8,999 for up to 24 on The Lord — six hours, bottles, beer, buffet, vans, crew and marina fees inside.

Is Pattaya or Bangkok better for a yacht party?

Bangkok's river is dinner cruises and sightseeing boats. The private party yachts — the catamarans with slides and floating pools — run out of Pattaya's marinas on the Gulf, two hours south. Every crew that searches 'Bangkok yacht party' ends up on a Pattaya boat; the private van both ways is how we make it a Bangkok day.

How many people can you take on a yacht party in Pattaya?

Our packages are sized for 12, 16 and 24, with the bar, buffet and vans scaled to the headcount. The Lord is licensed for 40 — for 25 to 40 we price the day for your exact crew.

When is yacht season in Pattaya?

November to April. The Gulf is calm, the sky is clear and the marina almost never raises the red flag. May to October is the rainy tail; boats still go out, but it's a gamble we don't sell.

Do you do bachelor party yachts in Thailand?

It's most of what we do. Same boats for bachelorette trips. The yacht day books on its own or as the Sunday of a Bangkok weekend with the tables on Friday and Saturday.
